Many of our outdoor fire pits are made from corten steel—a durable material designed to develop its own distinctive rust-coloured patina.
As the surface naturally weathers, warm shades of orange, bronze and brown begin to emerge, helping the fire pit settle comfortably into both traditional and contemporary gardens.

Frequently asked questions
Choose a fire pit that feels proportionate to the surrounding seating area. A very small bowl can become lost on a large terrace, while an oversized model may overwhelm a compact patio. Always allow generous space around the fire.
At home, we regularly cook for two adults and two children on an 80cm fire pit fitted with a full plancha. On our fairly open patio, it performs brilliantly and is just about large enough without looking undersized.
If, however, you want your fire pit to become more of a focal point within the garden, we'd recommend stepping up to the 100cm model. The extra diameter creates a much stronger visual presence while providing additional cooking space and a larger fire for those evenings spent entertaining family and friends.
As a general guide:
- 60cm - Suited to small gardens
- 80cm – Ideal for smaller patios and everyday family cooking.
- 100cm – A fantastic all-round size for entertaining and creating a striking centrepiece.
- 120cm+ – Best suited to large gardens, commercial spaces or those looking to make a real statement.
Corten steel is intended for outdoor use and will naturally develop its weathered surface when exposed to moisture and air. However, removable parts and cooking accessories may benefit from being stored under cover.
The appearance will depend on the individual product. Some pieces may arrive partly weathered, while others will continue developing their characteristic patina after installation.
