Description

The BonBiza is a wide,  innovative fire bowl-meet-grill from BonFeu. It is like a large barbecue but for plancha baking > so you can not only enjoy a cozy fire but also cook delicious meals on it.

The plancha (this is the cooking plate) has a wide diameter of 80 cm, is a substantial 6mm thick, and is extremely suitable as a cooking surface.

The BonBiza is very easy to clean. Residues of food and excess oil can easily be pushed into the fire with a spatula. After that, the baking tray can be cleaned with a damp cloth and then it's is ready for the next use.

Available in two formats, the Open model comes with convenient storage in the body to keep your essential logs at hand. A separate steel lid is also available - perfect to protect your BonBiza from rainwater, it will also make the fire go out quicker due to the starving the fire of oxygen.

Available in two finishes; Corten & Black. Corten steel is a brown-rust, weatherproof steel. The rust-colour and very dense oxide skin shield the deeper material from oxygen, which slows down oxidation. The Black is finished steel. Steel has the property, under humid circumstances, to rust > so keep in mind that the black will rust. This process can occur quickly.

An Introduction To Plancha Cooking

Most of the Bonfeu range of firepits & outdoor fireplaces can be turned from standard heat sources into fun & exciting methods to cook food. A steel Plancha is most commonly used throughout this range.

Plancha Cooking

To make it simple, a Plancha is a solid steel cooking plate, heated from the fire below.

Very easy to use, in around 30 minutes, depending on weather conditions, the cooking plate will reach a temperature of around 300˚C on the inner edge and around 200˚C on the outer edge.

After each use, a Plancha can be easily cleaned. First of all, it’s important to remove all food scraps by sliing them into your fire. After the plate has cooled down, you can clean it with a wet cloth. It is important to keep the plancha baking plate greased at all times. Especially when storing the baking plate, it must be greased. This is because the baking plate is made of steel, which can rust over time.

Bonfeu Materials Explained

Most of the Bonfeu range is available in 2 finishes; Black and raw Corten Steel. Whilst the black models are simply steel treated with a black coating, its worth explaining what Corten steel is and how it works.

Corten Steel

Corten steel, also known as weathering steel, is a type of steel that's resistant to corrosion and has a unique appearance.

When exposed to the elements, Corten steel develops a stable, protective layer of rust that gives it a unique, aesthetically pleasing finish.

Althoiugh it's nearly 100 years since it was first developed, it's recenty become very popular as a material to create water features, lawn edging, planters and, now, fire places!
