Moongate Arches
British-Made Corten Steel Moongates, Made to Order
Our collection of Corten steel moongates brings together two distinctive designs, from the beautifully simple circular Ring to the more sculptural Helix. Designed to frame pathways, entrances and views through the garden, each creates an architectural focal point that becomes increasingly at home amongst the planting as it ages.
Every moongate is made to order here in Britain from substantial Corten steel, gradually developing its characteristic warm, rust-coloured protective patina. Built for a lifetime outdoors, these aren't simply garden arches, but lasting garden features designed to be enjoyed for many years to come.
Each design is delivered directly to your home, with delivery included in the price, making it simple to introduce a truly special piece of British-made metalwork to your garden.
One simple concept, two beautiful designs
220cm Ring
A beautifully simple 2.2m circular Corten steel moongate, designed to frame a pathway, garden view or entrance without overwhelming the planting around it. Handmade to order in Britain, its clean architectural form gradually develops the rich rust-coloured patina that makes Corten so distinctive.
380cm Helix
For something altogether more dramatic, the Helix Moongate turns the traditional circular garden arch into a substantial piece of outdoor sculpture. Its sweeping form creates a striking focal point within larger gardens and landscaping schemes, while the naturally weathering Corten finish allows it to sit beautifully amongst planting.
Made for you, not pulled from a warehouse.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I install a Corten steel moongate?
Installation differs slightly between the two designs. The Ring Moongate has a welded base plate with laser-cut fixing holes and is designed to be anchor-bolted to a prepared concrete footing; the footing can be positioned so either the complete ring remains visible or the bottom disappears below ground level. The Helix can either be bolted to a suitable solid, level base or installed more permanently into concrete.
Is delivery included in the price?
Yes. UK mainland delivery is included in the price of both our Ring and Helix Corten steel moongates. Due to their considerable size and weight, however, you'll need to arrange suitable assistance for offloading when your moongate arrives; we'll contact you beforehand to arrange the delivery date.
Where can I use a moongate in my garden?
Almost anywhere you want to create a sense of arrival, transition or a framed view. Position one over a pathway, between two garden rooms, at an entrance, to frame a specimen tree or water feature, or simply use it as a sculptural focal point amongst planting.
Are your Corten steel moongates made in the UK?
Yes. Every moongate is made to order in a specialist Midlands workshop by skilled fabricators. The Corten steel is precisely cut, formed and seam-welded to create a substantial garden feature designed for many years outdoors.
How long will my moongate take to make?
As each moongate is made specifically to order, please allow up to 28 days for manufacture and delivery. The workshop will always aim to complete your order as quickly as possible, without rushing the fabrication and finishing process.
How heavy are the moongates?
They're substantial pieces of British-made metalwork. The 2.2m Ring weighs approximately 80kg, while the much larger Helix weighs approximately 150kg, so it's important to consider access and offloading before delivery.
Can you make a bespoke moongate for my garden?
Absolutely. Bespoke fabrication is a big part of what we offer. If the standard dimensions aren't quite right for your garden, our fabricators can discuss altering the dimensions to suit your space, landscaping design or commercial project.
Will my moongate arrive already rusted?
The distinctive rust colour is actually the natural protective patina of Corten weathering steel. The moongates can be pre-weathered by the workshop to give them their characteristic orange appearance; the Helix can alternatively be supplied unweathered if you'd prefer to watch the patina develop naturally in your garden.
Does a Corten steel moongate require maintenance?
Very little. Corten is designed to develop a protective weathered surface which helps slow further corrosion, so there's no annual painting or sealing required. Its colour will continue to mature and change naturally outdoors, becoming part of the character of the piece.
Do you offer trade accounts?
Yes. We welcome enquiries from garden designers, landscapers, architects, developers and other trade customers, with trade discounts available on the Moongate collection. Bespoke dimensions can also be discussed for individual schemes, making the range particularly suitable for larger residential, hospitality and commercial landscaping projects.
