A monumental Corten steel garden moongate, made to order and designed to completely transform the way you experience your garden.
Part of our Broxwood Collection, bringing together exceptional garden products made by skilled workshops closer to home, this substantial 2.2-metre moongate creates an architectural focal point within both traditional and contemporary landscapes.
Inspired by traditional circular moongates, its beautifully simple form can be used to frame a favourite view, mark an entrance, span a pathway or create a transition between different areas of the garden. At 2.2 metres in diameter, it has genuine presence without feeling overly heavy within the landscape.
Made by our partner workshop from genuine Corten weathering steel, the surface gradually develops its characteristic orange, russet and deep brown patina as it's exposed to the elements. This naturally weathered finish not only becomes richer with age but creates a protective surface over the steel beneath, resulting in an exceptionally durable garden feature requiring very little ongoing maintenance.
The ring itself has a substantial 15cm-deep × 5cm-wide hollow-box construction, with an external diameter of 220cm and an internal opening of approximately 210cm. A heavy-duty 6mm steel base plate provides strength and stability, with laser-cut fixing holes making installation straightforward.
Position it as a bold standalone sculpture or allow climbing roses, clematis, jasmine or honeysuckle to gradually soften its outline. The simplicity of the design allows it to work just as comfortably amongst loose country-garden planting as it does within a contemporary or Japanese-inspired landscape.
Installation can also be adapted to the desired look. The complete circle can remain visible above ground, or the base can be positioned lower so that the bottom of the ring disappears beneath the finished ground level – particularly effective when the moongate is used to straddle a pathway.
At approximately 80kg, this is a substantial piece of British garden metalwork. Delivery is arranged in advance and assistance will be required to offload the moongate when it arrives.
