Traditional Galvanised Steel Water Butts

Widely regarded as the finest steel water butts on the market for both style and durability, these sit in a different league when compared to 'premium' off-the-shelf plastic alternatives. No more tucking them around the corner, behind a bush!
Hand-crafted in a small workshop based in Bedfordshire, the design draws inspiration from the 18th-century lead cisterns found in the gardens of grand houses across Britain. Discover the wider collection of quality metal planters & garden features.
Our water butts are made by experienced metalworkers using 1.5 mm hot dip galvanised steel and feature a hose-ready brushed chrome tap, positioned at watering-can height for ease of use. The construction incorporates 72 or 90 coach bolts (depending on the model), with all joints sealed using waterproof mastic prior to final assembly. Each butt is finished with an aged patina treatment that will continue to develop character over time.
The dimensions provided are approximate and refer to the container itself, excluding the legs and decorative ball details.

All sales from the Bedfordshire workshop are hand-made to order. These take just 2-4 weeks to delivery - depending on the team's workload.

Maintenance
All products from the traditional galvanised range are made of heavy gauge galvanised steel, and then finished with a special treatment to give an aged patina.
Because they are hot dip galvanised, these products will have a long life.
Over time, exposure to the British elements will bring out a softer appearance and they will change from how they are initially supplied from the workshop. You may notice streaks begin to appear however do not worry - this is not a defect in the treatment - just the beginning of the natural weathering process as it begins to spread.
Delivery
Once finished, your order will be shipped directly from the workshop to your home.
All prices include standard home delivery, however do note that Off-Shore addresses will require a separate quotation.
Smaller items will be sent through the post however large items (obelisks, water butts, water feature and XL planter) will be fulfilled through a kerbside pallet service.
