Built around one of our favourte plancha fire pits, the Island offers everything you need to cook, prepare and entertain from one beautifully designed unit. A solid worktop provides the perfect space for preparing ingredients, while the shelves beneath keep cooking accessories and firewood neatly organised and close at hand. Mounted on robust wheels, the Island can easily be re-positioned to suit your patio, terrace or outdoor entertaining area.

Whether you're hosting friends for a summer barbecue or cooking a relaxed family meal over an open fire, the Island quickly becomes the focal point of any gathering.

Two Sizes Available

  • Large - L80 x W162 x H 111cm (80cm grill)
  • XL - L100 x W170 x H 110cm (100cm grill)

At the heart of every Island is a signature 6mm thick steel plancha, designed to deliver outstanding cooking performance.

Unlike a conventional barbecue, the circular plancha offers a variety of cooking temperatures across a single surface. The hottest area sits closest to the flames, ideal for searing meat, while the temperature gradually reduces towards the outer edge, making it perfect for vegetables, seafood and gently warming cooked food. This natural heat variation allows several different dishes to be prepared at the same time without constantly adjusting the fire.

A central grill grate is included as standard, providing even greater flexibility for cooking directly over the flames.

Designed for outdoor living > features include:-

  • Spacious integrated preparation worktop
  • Storage shelves for logs and cooking accessories
  • Heavy-duty wheels for easy positioning
  • Compatible with the BonFeu Butcher Block and a wide range of BonFeu cooking accessories
  • Durable steel construction
  • Available in both 80cm and 100cm cooking sizes
  • Simple to Clean

Cleaning the BonBiza Island couldn't be easier. Once cooking has finished, simply scrape food residue and excess oil back into the fire using a spatula. After the plancha has cooled, wipe the cooking surface with a damp cloth and it's ready for your next gathering.

Most of the Bonfeu range of firepits & outdoor fireplaces can be turned from standard heat sources into fun & exciting methods to cook food. A steel Plancha is most commonly used throughout this range.

Plancha Cooking

To make it simple, a Plancha is a solid steel cooking plate, heated from the fire below.

Very easy to use, in around 30 minutes, depending on weather conditions, the cooking plate will reach a temperature of around 300˚C on the inner edge and around 200˚C on the outer edge.

After each use, a Plancha can be easily cleaned. First of all, it’s important to remove all food scraps by sliing them into your fire. After the plate has cooled down, you can clean it with a wet cloth. It is important to keep the plancha baking plate greased at all times. Especially when storing the baking plate, it must be greased. This is because the baking plate is made of steel, which can rust over time.

Bonfeu Materials Explained

Most of the Bonfeu range is available in 2 finishes; Black and raw Corten Steel. Whilst the black models are simply steel treated with a black coating, its worth explaining what Corten steel is and how it works.
