Description
These sculptural hand-made glazed pots are perfect for inside the home.
Featuring a slightly curved profile with a flared opening, the Huế is well-suited to houseplants, stationary, dried flowers, or simply used as an objet d'art positioned on a bookshelf, desk or mantlepiece.
Every piece in the Huế range (pronounced h-ooo-eh - say it fast, soft and lift the last 'h'... this one has a few variations including the 'Western' wh-ey, so don't worry) is unique in it's own right due to the hand-made, traditional wood-fired making process. Read more about this below.
Each pot features a drainage hole as standard.

- 17cm wide
Postage
We are currently able to dispatch any pots under 35.5cm through our postal service. Sadly, anything larger will need to be dispatched through our standard pallet service (£54) or collected from the Yard (£free!).
We use double-skin cardboard boxes filled with wood shavings & paper to ensure your pots arrive intact. In some cases bubble wrap or a clear film may be used, though we will always endeavour to use as much material that can be recycled as possible.
As postage firms don't insure ceramics, we need to use a lot of additional packaging compared to other businesses selling the likes of jewellery or clothing.
Postage prices are calculated off the weight of your order, starting from £7.95 for small pots and then working up in increments.
In the case of ordering multiple large pots, you may be looking at a large, double packed box, or multiple individual packages. This may in some cases see postage being in excess of £20 to cover the cost of delivery and packaging. We never wish to profit off delivery costs, though it's essential that we cover our base costs with regards to this aspect of the business.
At checkout you are able to see a calculated delivery cost once you add your postcode to the order. This is before going through to payment, should you wish to amend anything.
The Making Process
Each pot is a testament to the skill of Vietnamese potters who shape the clay by hand before pressing it into molds.
After being removed from the molds, the pots are cured under the sun for three days. Skilled artists then apply glazes, adding vibrant colours and unique finishes to each product.
The pots are subsequently fired in traditional wood-fired kilns at temperatures ranging from 1000 to 1300°C.
The firing process, which lasts for three continuous days and nights, is a labour-intensive art in itself. Kiln masters carefully manage the fire, adding wood to maintain consistent heat that interacts naturally with the clay. This method produces distinctive effects, with each piece exhibiting unique variations created by the flames—ensuring that no two pots are alike.
Hand-Made Disclaimer
Due to the groggy, mineral-rich clay used to create these pots, there will be small 'pops' and bumps in the sides. Being a hand-made, village ceramic, these are all characteristics that each pot will feature. They do not have the perfections of factory-produced contemporaries.
Colour & Size
Please use the images above as a guide. Although the pots have been individually catalogued, pictures can only go so far as to represent true tones and shades of colours.
On the same note as colour, as these pots are hand-made, there may be minor variations in size to what is listed in the description. It's never a problem to check these for you prior to ordering.
