Description

A beautifully simple self-contained Corten steel water feature, handmade to order to bring reflection, movement and the gentle sound of water into the garden.

Part of our Broxwood Collection, bringing together exceptional garden products made by skilled workshops closer to home, this contemporary rectangular water table is handcrafted by specialist professional fabricators..

Water rises gently from a central fountain, flowing across the broad, flat surface to create an almost mirror-like pool. The result is a wonderfully calming feature that reflects the sky and surrounding planting while introducing subtle movement and sound into the garden.

Available in six substantial sizes, from 120cm through to an impressive 200cm long, its simple proportions make it equally suited to a contemporary courtyard, formal garden, large terrace or commercial landscape. Position it amongst planting as a focal point, use it to add structure to an open space, or place it where the reflections can be enjoyed from the house.

Each water table is made to order from heavy-duty Corten weathering steel, generally upgraded to 3mm thickness for Tom's Yard water features. Supplied initially in its raw steel state, exposure to the elements gradually develops the rich orange, russet and deep brown patina for which Corten is known. This weathered surface forms a protective layer over the steel beneath, creating a finish that becomes increasingly characterful with age.

Everything required to create the effect is neatly incorporated into the design, including an integrated pump with adjustable flow settings and a built-in LED fountain light. By day, the water creates beautiful reflections; as evening falls, the integrated lighting brings another dimension to the feature.

Every Broxwood Water Table is made specifically for your order, with a typical delivered lead time of approximately 2–4 weeks. Free standard kerbside delivery to mainland England and Wales is included, and bespoke dimensions are also available for individual gardens and commercial projects.

Simple, architectural and wonderfully calming – the Broxwood Rectangular Water Table combines British metalwork with water, light and reflection to create a feature that becomes more beautiful with age.

How Long To Go Rusty?

My Corten products are dispatched in a raw steel finish as standard.

It will take up to 12 months for the steel to develop its final rusted look & protective layer, but it could be as soon as 6 months if your garden's conditions are just right!

This process depends on factors such as weather, climate, your proximity to the coast (sea spray) etc...

Bespoke Sizes

If our standard sizes aren't quite right for your space, don't worry. We're delighted to offer a bespoke service, allowing our workshop to manufacture many of our products to your exact requirements.

Simply get in touch using the enquiry form on this page and let us know what you have in mind. The more information you can provide, the better we'll be able to advise and prepare a quotation tailored to your project.

Thickness

As standard, planters supplied in the Corten Range are made from a 2mm thick, structural-grade steel. Water features are generally upgraded to a thicker 3mm.

However, depending on your intended use - if you would like to order an item made from a thicker, more substantial steel (up to 6mm thick), then please get in touch and I can source a quotation.

I would suggest upgrading the thickness if you are:-

  • Planting anything heavy
  • Located in a windy spot
  • Are near the coast
  • Planning on using these in a commercial setting

A heavier grade planter will always last longer.

Maintenance & Notes

Maintenance

Corten steel requires no maintenance as the rusted patina it naturally forms acts as a protective barrier meaning there’s no need for painting or sealing. Depending on the environmental exposure, Corten steel’s lifespan can exceed 50 years thanks to its self-protecting rust layer, which is why it’s ideal for outdoor applications.

Notes

During the natural weathering process, your piece may produce ‘runoff’ that could cause staining on the surface below. This risk is particularly high during the first three to six months of the weathering process. Keep an eye out if these needs washing off a new patio.

Please note that, once production has started, the workshop may not be able to accommodate changes to an order.

Once you have received your planter or water feature, please unpack it straight away. Planters left palletised or packaged may develop an uneven patina if exposed to moisture or rain.

Warranty

5 year manufacturer's structural warranty.

What is Corten Steel?

Corten steel is highly durable and resistant to corrosion. It develops a unique rusty patina that enhances its look over time and this layer protects it further from changing weather conditions, making it ideal for outdoor use.
