Every May, the gardening world turns its eyes towards one extraordinary event; the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

For garden designers, nurseries, growers, and passionate gardeners alike, Chelsea marks the true beginning of summer - a week of inspiration, craftsmanship, ambitious planting, and countless cups of tea (or pimms) shared among flowers in full flourish.

Although I won’t be exhibiting at Chelsea this year, I’m delighted to say that Tom’s Yard pots will still be making an appearance in some very exciting places!

Visitors to the show will be able to spot my Italian pots (the Donatello & the Raphael) displayed on the stands of Frank P Matthews and ODD Ltd - with Number 16 of the Firmdale Group having used 6 large Donatello planters in their Chelsea in Bloom display.

There is always something rather special about seeing handmade pots become part of a larger Chelsea vision. Whether overflowing with seasonal planting, framing a carefully designed space, or quietly anchoring a display with their timeless character, terracotta pots have a wonderful way of bringing warmth and permanence to a garden. At Chelsea especially, where every detail matters, it is a privilege to know my pots have been chosen to play a small part.

The build-up to Chelsea is always full of anticipation. Plants are timed to perfection, final touches are fussed over until the very last moment, and exhibitors work around the clock to create gardens that, for one fleeting week, capture imaginations from around the world.

Even from afar, it is impossible not to get swept up in the excitement.

Chelsea also offers a fascinating glimpse into where gardening is heading. Each year brings new planting trends, fresh colour palettes, innovative materials, and evolving ideas about how we use outdoor spaces. Yet amongst all the innovation, there remains a deep appreciation for traditional craftsmanship and natural materials.

For those lucky enough to attend this year’s show, do keep an eye out for my pots whilst exploring the stands... And if you happen to spot one tucked amongst the displays by Frank P Matthews or ODD Ltd, it would be great to be tagged on social media!
