Description
A wonderfully joyful, one-of-a-kind vintage rug, handwoven in Morocco using strips of reclaimed textiles. Rich with colour, texture and character, this particular piece brings together irregular bands of raspberry pink, soft lilac, deep plum, faded blue, turquoise, cream and earthy red.
The beauty lies in its imperfection. No two lines are quite the same, colours shift as different fabrics appear through the weave, and the surface has the wonderfully tactile, slightly unruly character that only comes with a genuinely handmade piece. It feels collected rather than manufactured — a rug with real age, personality and a story behind it.
Measuring 207 x 148cm, it is a useful size for bringing colour to a sitting room, bedroom, hallway or relaxed country interior. Against old timber, terracotta floors, natural linen and antique furniture, I think it would look particularly good.
Sourced by me in Morocco and sold as an individual, catalogued piece. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
