Efforts have been made to show damages though unless a formal condition report has been issued, fleabites, hidden small chips or minute firing cracks may be missed.
If your pot has a more substantial crack, think of a way to keep wet soil from resting against the area of damage. This could be through using crocks or gravel to free the area from being in contact with damp soil.
