Corten Steel Floating Cube Planter

Regular price £180.00

Description

These Corten Steel Cube Planters are a striking contemporary planter that combine clean architectural lines with the natural beauty of weathered steel. Available in seven standard sizes, these substantial cube planters are equally at home framing an entrance, creating structure on a patio, or providing a bold focal point within a garden design.

Handmade to order in Britain by skilled professional fabricators near Birmingham, each planter is crafted from heavy-duty certified Corten steel. Built specifically for your order, these premium planters are typically delivered within 21 days. Over time, the steel develops its distinctive rich rust-coloured patina, creating a protective surface that enhances both appearance and durability. The result is a planter that looks better with age whilst requiring virtually no maintenance.

Designed with practicality in mind, every cube planter arrives fully assembled and ready to position - so no assembly is required. Integrated 15mm feet raise the planter slightly from the ground to improve airflow and drainage, while pre-drilled drainage holes help ensure healthy growing conditions for your plants.

Whether planted with ornamental grasses, clipped evergreens, olive trees or seasonal displays, the Cube Planter provides a timeless and durable home for your planting schemes. The clean geometric design works equally well in contemporary urban gardens, traditional country settings, commercial landscapes and courtyard spaces.

Questions & Notes

Free Delivery & Lead-Time

All prices shown include delivery to mainland England and Wales addresses.

For customers located outside these areas, delivery is not included within the listed price and will be quoted separately before an order is processed.

Depending on the size and quantity of pieces ordered, delivery will be made either via a parcel courier network or a palletised freight service. Smaller planters and lower-volume orders are typically dispatched through standard courier services, whilst larger planters & water features and bulk orders will be delivered on a pallet to ensure they arrive safely.

Please note that some of the largest features within the range are substantial items. Customers should ensure that suitable access is available for delivery vehicles and that there is a clear route to the intended unloading point. Moving the goods once delivered is the customers responsibility.

Lead-Time

As standard, the lead time is approximately 2 to 4 weeks delivered. But if you require a shorter lead time, please contact me and I will share your needs with the workshop.

Once the workshop have finished your order, it will be dispatched directly to your home.

How Long To Go Rusty?

My Corten products are dispatched in a raw steel finish as standard.

It will take up to 12 months for the steel to develop its final rusted look & protective layer, but it could be as soon as 6 months if your garden's conditions are just right!

This process depends on factors such as weather, climate, your proximity to the coast (sea spray) etc...

Bespoke Sizes

None of the standard sizes suit your space? No problem.

The workshop are glad to offer a bespoke service where they can make any custom size you require.

Simply get in touch with your measurements and I'll get back to you with a quotation within 48 hours.

Once approved, there is a lead-time of 4 - 8 weeks on bespoke jobs from order > delivery.

Thickness

As standard, planters supplied in the Corten Range are made from a 2mm thick, structural-grade steel. Water features are generally upgraded to a thicker 3mm.

However, depending on your intended use - if you would like to order an item made from a thicker, more substantial steel (up to 6mm thick), then please get in touch and I can source a quotation.

I would suggest upgrading the thickness if you are:-

  • Planting anything heavy
  • Located in a windy spot
  • Are near the coast
  • Planning on using these in a commercial setting

A heavier grade planter will always last longer.

Maintenance & Notes

Maintenance

Corten steel requires no maintenance as the rusted patina it naturally forms acts as a protective barrier meaning there’s no need for painting or sealing. Depending on the environmental exposure, Corten steel’s lifespan can exceed 50 years thanks to its self-protecting rust layer, which is why it’s ideal for outdoor applications.

Notes

During the natural weathering process, your piece may produce ‘runoff’ that could cause staining on the surface below. This risk is particularly high during the first three to six months of the weathering process. Keep an eye out if these needs washing off a new patio.

Please note that, once production has started, the workshop may not be able to accommodate changes to an order.

Once you have received your planter or water feature, please unpack it straight away. Planters left palletised or packaged may develop an uneven patina if exposed to moisture or rain.

Warranty

5 year manufacturer's structural warranty.

What is Corten Steel?

Corten steel is highly durable and resistant to corrosion. It develops a unique rusty patina that enhances its look over time and this layer protects it further from changing weather conditions, making it ideal for outdoor structures.
