If you follow my business, you’ll know that nothing in the world of pottery happens quickly. Working with small, independent potteries - often in rural communities - and creating entirely handmade products means everything takes significantly longer than mass-produced alternatives.

From digging the clay at its source, to preparing it, shaping each piece by hand, and allowing it to dry and cure before firing, every step requires patience. And that’s before even considering the time it takes to ship pieces to the UK.

Having placed a substantial order back in December for hundreds of pots with a contact in Morocco, they are finally being prepared for shipping.

By the end of May, the new glazed range should be arriving at Tom’s Yard, and I couldn’t be more excited. So far, customer feedback on social media has been amazing - so hopefully the new range of indoor and outdoor ceramics goes down a storm.
